Beyond Preliminary Phonics is a systematic sequential phonics reading and spelling program.
The program is designed to explicitly teach the 252 phonetic sounds during the primary years of schooling.
Beyond Preliminary Phonics is also suitable for secondary students requiring intervention, adult literacy and English Second Language learners.
The Student components of the program are Student Sound Books (available as a pack of 4 or individually) and 5 Student Workbooks (reproducible).
The Student Sound Books are to be used by teachers, School Services Officers, support staff and parents/caregivers to teach and practise the four levels of phonetic sounds 1-162.
The Student Workbooks provide follow-up Literacy tasks for each of the 40 sounds taught over the school year. The word lists and literacy activities are suitable for a range of student abilities.
